RYA Level 1 (Start Sailing) 2 Days (0930hrs to 1630hrs) Learn basic boat handling skills in a 4-session course for the complete novice.
Improver Sessions Saturday afternoons (1330hrs to 1630hrs) from mid-May onwards Develop sailing confidence and independence, working with one of our instructors – an ideal next step if you want to consolidate your skills for further qualifications or go on to club racing.
RYA Level 2 (Basic Skills) 5 Days (0930hrs to 1630hrs) Develop independent sailing skills, RYA level 2 is often the minimum requirement to enable you to hire boats from sailing establishments in the UK and abroad.
RYA Level 2 courses can be run over three weekends:
Advanced Skills & Race Training Once dinghy sailors have reached RYA Level 2 there are various modules to develop skills in line with interests. DWSC offers these modules either through courses or individual tuition, as required.
SEAMANSHIP 2 days (0930hrs to 1630hrs) This aims at increase self-reliance and decision-making skill and also provides instruction in sailing theory, capsize recovery and meteorology.
SAILING WITH SPINNAKERS 2 days (0930hrs to 1630hrs) This course will provide the knowledge and skills needed to rig and sail a dinghy with a spinnaker to enhance the boat’s performance and increase your enjoyment.
RACE TRAINING DAYS An opportunity for novice or experienced sailors to develop their dinghy racing skills and discover a whole new fun-packed and thrilling side to their sailing. (in preparation for the Invicta Winter Series)
